Jesus' Birth on the Day of Atonement

Two of the most important dates on our Christian calendars should be Epiphany which means the ‘manifestation of God’ on January 6th and the Day of Atonement on September 29th (sometime occurs on September 28th depending on the spring equinox). January 6th is the date the Mary conceived Jesus and September 29th is the date that Mary gave birth to Jesus.  Mary gave birth to Jesus in the early morning of September 29th according to the current Georgian calendar; however that date on the Israelite calendar would have been September 28th since a new date on the calendar was started at dawn (Genesis chapter one, more info here).   In America the day after the Day of Atonement was called Michaelmas and it was celebrated on September 29th .

Jesus tells us that he came to fulfill the laws of Moses and he did fulfill many of the laws.  HIS birth was a partial fulfillment of the Day of Atonement and when HE returns this feast day will be completely fulfilled.  The word ‘atone’ means is really two words ‘at one’ and when Jesus was born he was literally here ‘at one’ with us. HIS death fulfilled many of the feast day’s laws also.  Understanding the feast day laws and fulfillments is critical to understanding the events that will take place when HE returns.  HIS birth and death must occur on a feast day in order to fulfill the laws of Moses.

Do not think that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets. I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.”  DR Matthew 5:17

The proof of Jesus’ birth can be proven in many ways, as follows:
·         It was recorded in the Great Pyramid of Giza
·         It was recorded in heavenly astronomical events that the Magi saw.
·         Scripture provides many clues as to the timing of HIS birth.
·         The celebration of Epiphany meaning ‘manifestation’ and Theophany meaning the “manifestation of God” in many parts of the world on January 6th is proof of HIS conception date.
·         The feast of Michaelmas that use to be celebrated in America, England and Ireland also provides further proof of HIS birthdate.
This document is intended to document all of the proof I could find regarding the date of HIS conception and birth.

The Great Pyramid of Giza

According to the Great Pyramids of Giza, Yahshua (Jesus) was born on September 29, 2BC during the Day of Atonement.  He did come to atone for our past sins, so Yahshua being born on this day makes perfect sense.  The bible account of Jesus' birth does prove this date to be true.

The Great Pyramid of Giza passage tunnel which reflects Jesus' life major events.

The bible does tell us about the timing of when Jesus was born, as follows:

Biblical Information
Jesus was born during the
Age of Pisces, the Fishes
The bible indicates the age of the Mazzaroth with verses like these:
Jer 16:16 “Behold, I am sending for many fishers, declares the Lord, and they shall catch them.
Mat 4:19 And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
Jesus was born between 37 to 1BC
Jesus was born during the time of King Herod the Edomite was ruling over Judea. (Mat 2:1, Luke 1:5)
Various Heavenly Events Occurred
When Jesus was born we know the wise men or Magi came to worship Jesus since they saw his star in the East. (Mat 2:1) The constellation Leo is in the East, according to the Numbers camp order arrangement, and Leo represents the Tribe of Judah, whom Jesus descends from.  (see below)
Jupiter means 'god-father' or 'heavenly father'.
Regulus means 'little king'.
Jesus was conceived about January 6th and was born the Christian Day of Atonement
Jesus was conceived while Elizabeth is in her 6th month of pregnancy with John the Baptist. (Luke 1:26-35). John’s birth can be determined based on the time Priest Zacharias (John’s dad) served in the temple (Luke 1:5-13). (see below)
Jesus was born during warm weather.
Luke 2:8 tells us the shepherds were in the field keeping watch over the flock by night. Therefore we know Yahshua was born during a warm season and not in winter.  The sheep would not have been out to pasture in the winter when the grass is not growing and there may be snow on the ground

Heavenly Events - What did the Magi see?

There were many heavenly events leading up to Jesus' birth and putting the dates on the Hebrew calendar require knowledge of when the Spring Equinox was to determine when the New Year started.  I have included the event of 3BC since it includes events leading up to Jesus' birth. The spring equinox was on 3/20/3 BC was at 14:02 according to Nasa .

Jesus was born on the Christian Day of Atonement in 2BC, which means after 6:00am on September 28th and before 6:00am on September 29th according to our current Roman Gregorian calendar.  This date is the 10th day of the Seventh Hebrew month.  The Day of Atonement was calculated based on Enoch's Solar calendar which started the New Year on the Spring Equinox on 3/20/2 BC at 19:52 according to this site:  Jesus' birth on the Day of Atonement is very fitting since he came to atone for Israel’s past sins.

On this site, the Hope of Israel, this author reflects events surrounding Jesus' birth including what the Magi saw.  Here are the heavenly events that occurred:

On September 14, 3 B.C., and on February 17 and May 8 in 2 B.C., Jupiter the King planet stood next to Regulus the brightest star in Leo, which also represented Royalty. Then came a climax to the display. On June 17, 2 B.C., Venus and Jupiter -- the two brightest planets in the Solar System -- appeared to collide. They stood an incredible 1/50th degree apart and seemed to fuse into one immense ball of light. This was an unprecedented event. This exceptionally rare spectacle could not have been missed by the Magi. But that was not all. On August 27 in 2 B.C. there was a grand meeting of the planets in Virgo. Jupiter and Mars were only 1/7th degree apart and close at hand were Mercury and Venus standing together in the glare of the rising sun.
I have found all of these heavenly events in Stellarium and have provided pictures reflecting what the Magi saw in the heavens leading up to Jesus' birth.

3/21/3BC -  The Age of the Mazzaroth was Pisces, the Fishes
On the first day, after the Spring Equinox, Pisces is the constellation on the horizon as the sun is rising at 6:00am which is Hebrew Hour 0.  Note that the Stellarium system year is off by one year during the time before Yahshua (BC) since there is no year zero.

8/11/3BC - In Leo, Jupiter, the king planet & collides with Venus as they enter Leo which represents the tribe of Judah.  The tribe of Judah is the scepter tribe which all kings are born and are descendant from King David.

9/14/3BC - In Leo, Jupiter & Regulus Conjunction
Jupiter, the king planet is standing next to Regulus.  Regulus the brightest star in Leo and represents the heart of the Lion.

12/15/3BC In Leo, Jupiter in Retrograde motion & starts returning back to Regulus.
Retrograde motion starts and Jupiter starts heading back towards Regulus.

2/17/2BC - In Leo, Jupiter & Regulus Conjunction
Jupiter the King planet stood next to Regulus in the constellation of Leo.

3/20/2BC - In Leo, Jupiter is on Leo’s mane then starts heading back to Regulus.

5/8/2BC - In Leo, Jupiter & Regulus Conjunction
Jupiter the king planet stood next to Regulus.

6/17/2BC - In Leo, Jupiter & Regulus Conjunction – End Retrograde motion.
The heavenly events came to a climax on June 17, 2 B.C., Venus and Jupiter, which are the two brightest planets in the Solar System, appeared to collide. They stood an incredible 1/50th degree apart and seemed to fuse into one immense ball of light. This was an unprecedented event. This exceptionally rare spectacle could not have been missed by the Magi.

8/27/2BC - In Virgo, a Grand Meeting of Jupiter, Mars & Mercury with Venus close by.
On August 27 in 2 B.C. there was a grand meeting of the planets in Virgo. Jupiter and Mars were only 1/7th degree apart and close at hand were Mercury and Venus standing together in the glare of the rising sun.

9/29/2BC - Jesus' birth on the Christian Day of AtonementVirgo is clothed in the sun and the moon is at her feet
This is the date that Yahshua (Jesus) was born according to the Great Pyramid of Giza.  Virgo is clothed in the sun.  The moon is at her feet next to Mercury. Mars, Jupiter and Venus are present.

“And a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. She was pregnant and was crying out in birth pains and the agony of giving birth.” Rev 12:1

The constellation Virgo represents the woman, who is the virgin maiden, giving birth and holding in her hand Spica the branch containing the precious seed of Jesus.  The twelve stars on her head represent the 12 tribes of Israel.  Virgo is always has a crown of 12 stars and the site states the following:

The astronomer, Professor Thorley, has shown that there are exactly twelve stars surrounding the head of Virgo as we view them from the earth. If one will look at Norton's Star Atlas, twelve visible stars will be seen around Virgo's head. They are, according to astronomical terminology: (1) Pi, (2) Nu, (3) Beta, (4) Sigma, (5) Chi, (6) Iota - these six stars form the southern hemisphere around the head of Virgo. Then there are (7) Theta, (8) Star 60, (9) Delta, (10) Star 93, (11) Beta, (12) Omicron - these last six form the northern hemisphere around the head of Virgo.

The Heavenly events and the Great Pyramid of Giza are in agreement.

Biblical & Calendar Events

According to Luke, Mary conceived of Jesus by the Holy Spirit, when Elizabeth was in her six month of pregnancy with John the Baptist. Mary’s conception is actually known as the ‘manifestation of God’ which is called Epiphany or Theophany (see below).

“Now in the sixth month[of Elizabeth’s pregnancy], the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin's name was Mary. Having come in, the angel said to her, "Rejoice, you highly favored one! The Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women!" But when she saw him, she was greatly troubled at the saying, and considered what kind of salutation this might be. The angel said to her, "Don't be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. Behold, you will conceive in your womb, and bring forth a son, and will call his name 'Jesus.' WEB Luke 1:26-31

According to Luke, Elizabeth conceived of John the Baptist, shortly after her husband Priest Zacharias served in the temple.

”There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the priestly division of Abijah. He had a wife of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth. They were both righteous before God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord. But they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and they both were well advanced in years. Now it happened, while he executed the priest's office before God in the order of his division, according to the custom of the priest's office, his lot was to enter into the temple of the Lord and burn incense. The whole multitude of the people were praying outside at the hour of incense. An angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing on the right side of the altar of incense. Zacharias was troubled when he saw him, and fear fell upon him. But the angel said to him, "Don't be afraid, Zacharias, because your request has been heard, and your wife, Elizabeth, will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John. You will have joy and gladness; and many will rejoice at his birth.” WEB Luke 1:5-14

The priestly divisions, of the year, were originally created by King David and they are also known as courses.  King David’s priestly courses are described in 1 Chronicles chapter 24, which show that Abijah was assigned to the eighth course.  However, the Dead Sea Scrolls show that the priestly courses rotated and that in the first year of the rotation Abijah was assigned to the 11th course.  If Zacharias was serving the 11th course that year, Jesus' birthdate does calculate out to be the Day of Atonement.

Enoch’s Solar Calendar of Birth & Heavenly Events

I have placed various events, on Enoch’s solar calendar, in order to show when they occurred and the timing, as follows:
  1. The priestly courses of Abijah that Zacharias was assigned and observed.
  2. John the Baptist’s birth events.
  3. Jesus' birth events.
  4. The heavenly events that the Magi saw.
  5. Our Father in Heaven's feast days as described in Leviticus 23.

Pregnancy Date Calculator

A pregnancy calculator can be used to prove Jesus' and John the Baptist’s conception and birth date calculation I put on the calendars above.

If John the Baptist was conceived on June 6th, his birthdate is approximately February 27th.
If Jesus was conceived on January 6th, his birthdate is approximately September 28th
The reverse due date calendar shows that if Yahshua was born on September 29th, if he was conceived on January 6th.

Old and New Style Calendar

In 1752, our calendar changed to the Gregorian calendar which is also called the New Style dating.  Previously we were on the Julian calendar which is called Old Style.  The process of implementing the new calendar required a 12 day adjustment.  For example, when Great Brittan and her colony America transitioned to the New Style calendar on September 2nd, the next day was considered September 14th.  Therefore, 12 days were lost that year.

Prior to the transition, Christmas was celebrated on December 25th on the Julian calendar and when the transition happened some countries changed Christmas observance to January 6th since they wanted to celebrate it on the sameself date.  Other countries left Christmas observance on December 25th which is really 12 days off from the original day.

Therefore, the original date of December 25th should have been changed to January 6th in order to observe Jesus' actual conception date.  This conception date is in agreement with the Great Pyramid of Giza’s date of September 29th for Jesus' birth.
HIS birth was prior to 6:00am that date, therefore Jesus' was born on the Christian Day of Atonement on the 10th day of the 7th Hebrew month.
Life does start at conception!

Jesus’ conception date of January 6th is celebrated in several countries and it is called Epiphany.  Epiphany is commonly known as Three Kings’ Day or the Feast of the Epiphany. It means “manifestation” or “showing forth”. It is also called Theophany (“manifestation of God”), especially by Eastern Christians.

Epiphany is celebrated as a public holiday in the following places on January 6th:  Austria, Colombia (South America), Croatia, Cyprus, Poland, Ethiopia (but on different date that varies annually), parts of Germany, Greece, Italy, Slovakia, Spain, Uruguay and the US Virgin Islands.

In Mexico in addition to getting presents from baby Jesus on Christmas Eve, children receive gifts from the three wise kings (Reyes Magos) on January 6th. Streets in major cities are packed with food stalls, gifts, and outdoor parties.

While reading old newspaper I learned that the date of September 29th was celebrated in America and it was known as the feast of Michaelmas. It is the feast of Saint Michael and all the angels.  Below are just a couple mentions of Michaelmas from old newspapers.

1892 – As published in the Pittsburg Dispatch on the 29th of September
See column 6

1903 news – The Bee, Kentucky published October 1st

Civil Year – Michaelmas Term

According to Wikipedia it was traditional to start an academic or civil year after Michaelmas on September 29th.  However the bible tells us the new civic year was started on the Feast of Trumpets and the day after Day of Atonement was Michaelmas day.  Michaelmas day was a date of reconciling and the start of a new judgment cycle.

Michaelmas term is the first academic term of the academic year in a number of English-speaking universities and schools, especially in the United Kingdom. Michaelmas term derives its name from the Feast of St Michael and All Angels, which falls on 29 September.”

The term is also the name of the first of four terms into which the legal year is divided by the Courts of England and Wales and the Courts of Northern Ireland. While the name is not used in the legal systems of the United States, the U. S. Supreme Court nevertheless follows the same custom by beginning its year-long term on the first Monday in October, a few days after Michaelmas.”

Therefore on the Day of Atonement when all sins are to be reconciled with Jesus in order to be fully forgiven a new cycle of judging begins even in our court systems.

In this newspaper article of 1801 published in America they are reconciling their accounting from Michaelmas to Michaelmas; therefore they were using a Michaelmas term for a civil year here in America.

The civil year start must have been on the Day of Atonement also known as Michaelmas even when Jesus was born:

And it came to pass, that in those days there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that the whole world should be enrolled. This enrolling was first made by Cyrinus, the governor of Syria. And all went to be enrolled, every one into his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem: because he was of the house and family of David, To be enrolled with Mary his espoused wife, who was with child. And it came to pass, that when they were there, her days were accomplished, that she should be delivered.”  DR Luke 2:1-6

The purpose of the registration was for tax collection and the registration was required by the start of the new Michaelmas year.  Therefore Joseph and Mary had to be registered prior to the Michaelmas feast on September 29th.  That is why Joseph and Mary were in Bethlehem for Jesus’ birth on September 29th for the feast of the Day of Atonement.

The reason why I believe our ancestor’s called September 29th the feast of Michaelmas was since they knew that the Day of Atonement feast hasnot yet been fulfilled.  It was only partially fulfilled with Jesus’ birth at the first event.  This feast will be completely fulfilled at Jesus’ return and the archangel Michael will slay Satan.

And at that time Michael the great prince shall stand up, that stands over the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of tribulation, such tribulation as has not been from the time that there was a nation on the earth until that time: at that time thy people shall be delivered, even every one that is written in the book.  And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to reproach and everlasting shame.   And the wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament, and some of the many righteous as the stars for ever and ever.  And thou, Daniel, close the words, and seal the book to the time of the end; until many are taught, and knowledge is increased.”  Sep Dan 12:1-4

And there was a great battle in heaven, Michael and his angels fought with the dragon, and the dragon fought and his angels: And they prevailed not, neither was their place found any more in heaven. And that great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, who seduceth the whole world; and he was cast unto the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying: Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: because the accuser of our brethren is cast forth, who accused them before our God day and night.” Revelation 12:7-10

Moqui Indians

The Moqui Indians of Arizona have been celebrating Christmas since prior to Columbus’ arrival and they also associate the Christmas season with Jesus’ return.  Full article here:

I find this very interesting that these Indians in Arizona celebrated Christmas and just south of them in Mexico they celebrated Epiphany, the manifestation of God, on January 6th.

Jesus' conception and birthdate agrees with the heavenly events, his original conception date on our current calendar, the biblical birth events in the New Testament, and the Great Pyramid of Giza.  Therefore, let’s celebrate Jesus' birth on the Christian Day of Atonement by fasting and repenting as our Father in Heaven instructed us to do:

Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, "However on the tenth day of this seventh month is the day of atonement: it shall be a holy convocation to you, and you shall afflict yourselves[fast]; and you shall offer an offering made by fire to Yahoweh. You shall do no manner of work in that same day; for it is a day of atonement, to make atonement [repent of sin] for you before Yahoweh your God. For whoever it is who shall not deny himself in that same day; shall be cut off from his people. Whoever it is who does any manner of work in that same day, that person I will destroy from among his people. You shall do no manner of work: it is a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. It shall be a Sabbath of solemn rest for you, and you shall deny yourselves. In the ninth day of the month at evening, from evening to evening, you shall keep your Sabbath." WEB Leviticus 23:26-32

If you want to celebrate Jesus' conception, that should also be done in a scriptural matter.  The celebration should not include making the bankers and business men lots of money.

We are to observe the Day of Atonement according to the laws of Moses and I have documented that process here.

If you are going to celebrate Jesus' conception date, keep it biblical and thank our Heavenly Father for the gifts he has given you and please do NOT reward the bankers and corporations by buying gifts from them.

Jesus was born from a royal line of descent
and HE is our High Priest and King.
Praise our Heavenly Father and thank HIM for the gifts he has given you!

Our Father's Reckoning – Enoch Division of Days Corrected

This year I realized there were errors in my solar calendar.  This page addresses these errors.  To read the full explanation of how the solar calendar works, see this page.

Division of the Year

Our solar year is 365.25 days since that is the number of days it takes the earth to travel around the sun.  Our Father in Heaven created the sun and the stars on the fourth day of creation; therefore our solar calendar and time did not start until the 4th day of creation.

And God made the two great lights—the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night—and the stars. And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening and there was morning, the fourth day.” ESV Genesis 1:14-19
This verse from, the book of Jubilees, reflects that they started celebrating the Feast of Weeks from the days of creation and it maybe referring to the sun’s creation:

“And during the time this festival was being celebrated in heaven, from the days of creation to the days of Noah, it was twenty-six jubilees and five weeks of years.” Jubilees 6:16
This knowledge corrects issues I was having with my calendar and the placement of the feast days.  This new calendar corrects three issues as follows:

  • ·         The date of Pentecost now agrees with the book of Jubilees and the Dead Sea Scrolls
  • ·         The holy festivals, that require a lot of work to be performed, are no longer on Sabbath rest days
  • ·         The new day starts at dawn

The Feast of Weeks, Pentecost Date Calculation

It is difficult placing the Feast of Weeks, also called Pentecost, on the calendar strictly based on our bibles since we must determine what date ‘next day after the Sabbath’ implies.

“Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, "Speak to the children of Israel, and tell them, 'When you have come into the land which I give to you, and shall reap its the harvest, then you shall bring the sheaf of the first fruits of your harvest to the priest: and he shall wave the sheaf before Yahweh, to be accepted for you. On the next day after the Sabbath the priest shall wave it.” WEB Leviticus23:9-11
The book of Jubilees places the date of the Feast of Weeks on the 15th day of the 3rd Month which is in agreement with the Dead Sea scrolls.  On this page of my site I provide a detailed account of events that occurred on this date from the book of Jubilees along with the feast dates in the Dead Sea Scrolls.  Therefore, the writer of the book of Jubilees and the Essenes that wrote the Dead Sea Scrolls both agreed that the date ‘next day after the Sabbath’ is the Sabbath after the Feast of Unleavened Bread ended.  The verses prior to Leviticus 23:9 (above) are instructions for Unleavened Bread; therefore the implication could be the Sabbath after unleavened bread in finished.  Here is a second author’s version of the Dead Sea Scroll calendar that shows the Wave Sheaf on the 26th day of the 1st Month and Pentecost on the 15th of the third Month.

Numbers chapter 6 explains the Nazirite Vow which is a special vow of dedication to Our Father.  It is an eight day process.  Jesus was resurrected on Abib 18 and eight days later is Abib 26 which is the date of the Wave Sheaf according to the Dead Sea scrolls.  Therefore, it is on Abib 26 that Jesus became our High Priest according to the law of MelchizedekLeviticus chapter 9 confirms that Aaron also was not ordained until the 8th day.

The laws for purification and circumcision of a baby boy, explained in Leviticus chapter 12, are also an 8 day process. Therefore, it appears that 8 days are required both the dedication of a new baby boy and a high priest.

Sabbath Day & Feast Day Conflict

It is a conflict of the law to have a feast day on a Sabbath day.  Our Father gave us the Sabbath Day so that we could rest once a week; whereas, feast days are days that Our Father wants us to perform specific work for HIM.

Here are examples of the Sabbath Day laws:
And on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done. So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation.” ESV Genesis 2:2-3
See, for that the Lord hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day. So the people rested on the seventh day.” KJV Exodus 16:29-30
"Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. You shall labor six days, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to Yahweh your God. You shall not do any work in it, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your man-servant, nor your maid-servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates; for in six days Yahweh made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day; therefore Yahweh blessed the Sabbath day, and made it holy.” WEB Leviticus 20:8-11
You shall keep the Sabbath therefore; for it is holy to you. Everyone who profanes it shall surely be put to death; for whoever does any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.” WEB Exodus 31:14
“'Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be a holy day for you, a Sabbath of solemn rest to Yahweh: whoever does any work in it shall be put to death. You shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations on the Sabbath day.'" WEB Exodus 35:2-3
The Feast of Trumpets which is the same day as the Fall Division Festival must not be on a Sabbath since they were to work all day preparing offerings.  This is not a day of rest at all:
In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a holy convocation; you shall do no servile work: it is a day of blowing of trumpets to you. You shall offer a burnt offering for a sweet savor to Yahweh: one young bull, one ram, seven he-lambs a year old without blemish; and their meal-offering, fine flour mixed with oil, three tenth parts for the bull, two tenth parts for the ram, and one tenth part for every lamb of the seven lambs; and one male goat for a sin-offering, to make atonement for you; besides the burnt offering of the new moon month, and the meal-offering of it, and the continual burnt offering and the meal-offering of it, and their drink-offerings, according to their ordinance, for a sweet savor, an offering made by fire to Yahweh.” WEB Numbers 29:1-6
The Unleavened Bread feast day cannot occur on a Sabbath since Our Father asked them to travel out of Egypt, on this date, the year prior:
“You shall observe the feast of unleavened bread; for in this same day have I brought your hosts out of the land of Egypt: therefore shall you observe this day throughout your generations by an ordinance forever.” WEB Exodus 12:17
The first day of Unleavened Bread actually requires a lot of work and it is definitely not a Sabbath rest day:

On the fourteenth day of the first month is the Lord's Passover, and on the fifteenth day of this month is a feast. Seven days shall unleavened bread be eaten. On the first day there shall be a holy convocation. You shall not do any ordinary work, but offer a food offering, a burnt offering to the Lord: two bulls from the herd, one ram, and seven male lambs a year old; see that they are without blemish; also their grain offering of fine flour mixed with oil; three tenths of an ephah shall you offer for a bull, and two tenths for a ram; a tenth shall you offer for each of the seven lambs; also one male goat for a sin offering, to make atonement for you.” ESV Numbers 28:16-22

Overview of Dawn to Dawn

The Israelites regarded the morning as the beginning of the day; in the evening the day ‘declined’ or ‘went down’ until the new day started in the morning. The Old and New Testament proves this as a fact. When determining how the ancient Israelites reckoned their days, there is confusion since the word ‘date’ is not found in our bibles and since they used the word ‘day’ instead of the word ‘date’. Today we use the words ‘day’ and ‘date’ interchangeably

The Israelites reckoned their day, new month and New Year to all start at the same time. These all started at the Hebrew hour 0 which is 6:00 a.m. in the morning.  Hebrew hours will be discussed further in the next section.

A day is the period of light when the sun is above the local horizon which is the time period from sunrise to sunset. The earth’s rotation on its inclined axis creates a solar day and then night. There are 365.25 days in a year.

Genesis Chapter One

Genesis chapter one models how we are to reckon our days and I have created the table below to illustrate this fact:
Genesis Text with God’s Creation Paraphrased
Verse Numbers
God created light:  God called the light Day [yom], and the darkness he called Night [layelah].
“There was evening [ereb] and there was morning [boqer], one day.” [The time between evening and morning is night time.]
God created the sky: God made the expanse, and divided the waters… God called the expanse sky.
There was evening and there was morning, a second day.” [Between evening and morning is night time.]
God created dry land, earth and seas.  He also placed grass, herbs and fruit trees on the earth.
There was evening and there was morning, a third day.” [Between evening and morning is night time.]
God created two great lights to divide the day and the night.
“There was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.” [Between evening and morning is night time.]
God created living creatures for the sea and birds.
“There was evening and there was morning, a fifth day.” [Between evening and morning is night time.]
God created living creatures for the land (cattle and other animals) and man (male and female).
“There was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.” [Between evening and morning is night time.]
The heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. On the seventh day God finished his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. God blessed the seventh day, and made it holy, because he rested in it from all his work which he had created and made.”
As you can see, Our Father started the book of Genesis by giving as an example of how our day and week should be reckoned, as follows:
1.       Day:  he created the day before he created the night; showing the day is first.
2.       Work Day:  he did all of HIS work during the day, before evening started.
3.       Evening:  he stopped working in the evening and did no work at night.
4.       Morning:  he started a new day in the morning and considered the previous day done.  Then he started working again in the morning.
5.       Order of Day:  he showed us the order of our day should be; morning, day, evening, night and then morning again.
6.       Work Days:  He worked for six days prior to resting on the seventh day.
7.       Seventh Day:  He did no work on the seventh day or night, he instead rested.

Jesus followed the this reckoning of the work week since he explained that he needed to get his work done during the day since no one was to perform work at night.
“I must work the works of him who sent me, while it is day. The night is coming, when no one can work.” WEB John 9:4
When Our Father provided us our instruction for observing HIS feast days he uses the word ‘day’; therefore Our Father is reckoning our calendar by ‘day’ and not by ‘night’.  For example, we our told the Israelites observed the Passover, on the 14th ‘day’ even though the activity was to be performed in the evening.
“They kept the Passover in the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, at evening, in the wilderness of Sinai. According to all that Yahweh commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did.” WEB Numbers 9:5
In the verses below, notice that in our instructions for observing the feast day, Our Father tells us the day or date they should be performed.  He does not tell us which evening or night they should be performed.
“On the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread to Yahweh. Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread. In the first day you shall have a holy convocation. You shall do no regular work.” WEB Leviticus 23:6-7
“In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a holy convocation; you shall do no servile work: it is a day of blowing of trumpets to you.” WEB Numbers 29:1
“Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the Lord.” KJV Leviticus 23:34
If Our Father wanted us to reckon our 24 hour time period by evening, the above verse would read ‘The fifteenth evening of the seventh month’. If he wanted us to reckon it at midnight, the verse would read ‘The fifteenth midnight of the seventh month’.  Since he used the word day consistently, I believe that he wants us to reckon our time by the day and the day starts in the morning.
There has also been some tapering with the scriptures to make people believe that night comes before day.  Below are three different translations showing the day is before the night:
And thy lyfe shall hange before the, and thou shalt feare both daye [yomam] and nyghte [laylah] ad shalt haue no trust in thy lyfe. Tyndale Deuteronomy 28:66
And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day [yomam] and night [laylah], and shalt have none assurance of thy life. KJV Deuteronomy 28:66
“And thy life shall be in suspense before thine eyes; and thou shalt be afraid by day [yomam] and by night [laylah], and thou shalt have no assurance of thy life.” Septuagint, Deuteronomy 28:66
Here are newer versions of the same verses that have day and night switched which might lead people to believe that the night is reckoned before the day:
“Your life shall hang in doubt before you. Night [laylah] and day [yomam] you shall be in dread and have no assurance of your life.” ESV Deuteronomy 28:66
“And your life shall hang in doubt before you; and you shall fear night [laylah]  and day [yomam], and shall have no assurance of your life.” WEB Deuteronomy 28:66
There is a verse in Jeremiah where day and night have been switched also.  Here is an earlier version of this verse:
“And thou shalt speak this word to them; Let your eyes shed tears day [yomam] and night [laylah], and let them not cease: for the daughter of my people has been sorely bruised, and her plague is very grievous.” Septuagint, Jeremiah 14:17
Here are two later versions of the same verse where they have switched night and day again:
"You shall say to them this word: 'Let my eyes run down with tears night [laylah] and day [yomam], and let them not cease, for the virgin daughter of my people is shattered with a great wound, with a very grievous blow.” ESV Jeremiah 14:17
“And thou shalt say this word unto them, Let mine eyes run down with tears night [laylah] and day [yomam], and let them not cease.” ASV Jeremiah 14:17
In this verse, they are closing the gates at sundown in preparation for the Sabbath day that will be starting the next morning.  They have just probably completed their day of work and they want to ensure that the gates are shut in preparation for the morning.  Because the Sabbath day starts in the morning, they cannot return to close the gates on the Sabbath day since that would be considered work and a violation of the law. No work is allowed on the Sabbath day. Notice the verse reflects Sabbath day and not Sabbath evening or night.
“It came to pass that, when the gates of Jerusalem began to be dark before the Sabbath, I commanded that the doors should be shut, and commanded that they should not be opened until after the Sabbath: and some of my servants set I over the gates, that there should no burden be brought in on the Sabbath day.” WEB Nehemiah 13:19
The Hebrew word ‘shachar’, Strong’s number 7837, translates to the English word ‘dawn’ and is defined as; dayspring, early, light, morning, or whence rises. The bible translator have used these words, in our scriptures, to reflect the word ‘shachar’; dawn, dawning of the day, daybreak, and morning.  Here are examples of verses translated from the Hebrew word ‘shachar’ and they all imply the day was beginning:
“But the men would not hearken to him: so the man took his concubine, and brought her forth unto them; and they knew her, and abused her all the night until the morning: and when the day began to spring [shachar], they let her go.” KJV Judges 19:25
On the seventh day they rose early, at the dawn of day [shachar], and marched around the city in the same manner seven times. It was only on that day that they marched around the city seven times.” ESV Joshua 6:15
“Have you commanded the morning since your days began [shachar], and caused the dawn to know its place.” ESV Job 38:12
“So Bethel will do to you because of your great wickedness. At daybreak [shachar] the king of Israel will be destroyed.” WEB Hosea 10:15
The events of Jesus' crucifixion also prove the Israelites reckoned their time from dawn of the morning sunrise to the dawn of the morning. I will be documenting this fact below.
Let’s remember that Paul told us we are children of the day:
“Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.” KJV 1 Thessalonians 5:5

The Hour

Above is a picture of how the Hebrew sundial worked.  The day, month, and New Year all started at Hour 0 which is 6:00AM and scripture does prove this also.  The age of the Mazzaroth is determined on the spring equinox at hour 0.

Jesus' Crucifixion & Spring Feast Event Summary

The crucifixion events prove dawn to dawn reckoning.  In order to for Jesus to be the Passover lamb, he had to fulfill the law of Passover exactly.  Our current calendar dates below are based on Jesus being crucified and dying on April 3rd, 33AD.  This is the date that many researchers believe to be true.

The spring equinox in 33AD was on March 20th at 7:34am.  Therefore the Passover sacrifice would be required on April 3rd.

The new moon was March 17th at 10:00am.  Therefore a lunar Passover dinner would be on March 31st and the Jewish Passover ended on April 1st at 6:00pm.

The Solar & Lunar Passover above is confirmed since these events occurred on April 1st:
Mat 26:1-2 in two days Passover is coming (Israelite Passover)
Mat 26:3 Caiaphas plots to kill Jesus but they decide not to during the feast (Jewish Passover) Same as Mark 14:1-2

Note:  the translations in our bibles are worded to make you think it was Passover the night of the Last Supper but it was not.  That is why I have consulted Strong’s and have reworded the verses.

Passover Dinner
There are is no evidence that Yahshua’s family or the Disciples had dinner that night.  Yahshua did say he would have dinner when it is fulfilled in the kingdom and he did fulfill the Passover Feast Day prior to the sundown meal time.
There was no mention of a passover dinner due to the law Numbers 9:10-11:
"Say to the children of Israel, 'If any man of you or of your generations is unclean by reason of a dead body, or is on a journey far away, he shall still keep the Passover to Yahweh. In the second month, on the fourteenth day at evening they shall keep it; they shall eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.”
1 Corth 5:7-8 Shows the Disciples continued celebrating on the future Passovers.

Mark 15:42 When late evening G3798 or nightfall had already come because it was the preparation day, Joseph came to get Yahshua’s body.
Luke 23:54 When Joseph put Yahshua in the tomb it was preparation day and the Sabbath was beginning to dawn G2020 (to let shine). (it was getting close to 6:00am or Hour 0)
Luke 23:56 The women returned home to prepare spices and ointments & rested on the Sabbath day.

No work shall be done on those days. But what everyone needs to eat, that alone may be prepared by you.

Jesus had to fulfill the Passover laws in order to be our Passover lamb, therefore, we must get this timing correct.  Please also see this document on the Passover laws.

You shall sacrifice the passover at evening, at the going down of the sun, at the time that you came forth out of Egypt. KJV Deuteronomy 16:6

Scripture proves that our day starts at sunrise and that Jesus last supper was not a Passover meal.  There are three different meals with three different types of bread requirements that prove our day cannot start at sundown and does start at sunrise.
  • Abib 13:  Loaf bread with wine at the Last Supper.
  • Abib 14:  Unleavened bread with bitter herbs at Passover.
  • Abib 15:  Plain unleavened bread during the feast of Unleavened bread.

“Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? Cleanse out the old leaven that you may be a new lump, as you really are unleavened. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. Let us therefore celebrate the festival, not with the old leaven, the leaven of malice and evil, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. ESV 1 Corth 5:8
